Winter Frost Christmas Card

Hello!  I love today's card for several reasons.  First of all, it's a Christmas card, and in my opinion, that's the best kind of card.  I love Christmas.  Second of all, I love the name of the designer series paper used on this card-Winter Frost.  I live in a part of the world where it doesn't snow for Christmas, so ever since I was little I've dreamed of waking up to snow gently falling and a world of white.  It's been my dream for as long as I can remember.  I've listened to Amy Grant singing about a tender Tennessee Christmas with snow, and I just want to have a white Christmas once in my life!  This card helps me at least dream of that kind of Christmas.  It's fun to have a dream. :)  This card is another one I received while at convention this past summer, and I couldn't wait to share it with you.  It was made by demonstrator Margaret Hall.  Thank you Margaret for such a great card!

It uses the stamp set Merry Little Christmas, Winter Frost designer series paper, the Labels Collection Framelits dies, a rhinestone basic jewel, and the silver 1/8'' ribbon from Stampin' Up!'s holiday catalog.  The colors used are Bermuda Bay, Costal Cabana, Island Indigo, Pool Party, Smoky Slate, Whisper White, and Silver.

I hope you enjoyed today's little escape (in the form of a card), and that you'll be back tomorrow.  See you then!

Gently Falling Card #1

Good morning!  Thanks for stopping by to see more of my cards from the card holder I showed yesterday.  I really love this project I made designed by my friend Mayra.  It's a card holder that holds 4 cards and 4 envelopes to give as a gift to someone.  Such a beautiful gift!  I'd love to be the recipient of something such as this, what about you?

The cards are absolutely stunning!  Each and every one of them are elegant and beautiful.  I might have a hard time giving these cards away!  Here's the first of four cards I made to go in the card holder.  You'll have to stop by tomorrow and keep coming back to see all of them!  :)

I used the wood grain embossing folder on the larger piece of very vanilla card stock to add some texture and dimension, and the 'twine' is strings from Stampin' Up!'s burlap ribbon.  You cut the finished sides off the ribbon and 'fray' it to get individual strings.  I tied it around some paper from the Thankful tablescape place setting kit and stamped a leaf from the Gently Falling stamp set.  The greeting is from the Lacy and Lovely stamp set.  Check back again tomorrow for some more of this set!

Gently Falling Card Holder

Hello!  Over the next five days, I'm going to be showing you a card holder I made with my friend Mayra.  She comes up with the greatest ideas!  I saw the card holder and the cards that go inside it, and loved them all immediately.  You'll want to check back everyday to see all the cards!  Here's the card holder for today.

The holder is made with a single sheet of 8 1/2 x 11'' card stock, and then tied off with some soft suede taffeta ribbon.  I stamped everything in the card holder with the stamp set Gently Falling.  It's a great fall set.  I absolutely love it!  Each year I tell myself that I don't need a new fall leaves set, because I already have this one, but now I want this one too!  I comes with 12 stamps: 6 solid images, and then 6 outlines to stamp over the image if you would like to step up your stamping.  The colors I used were pool party, early espresso, very vanilla, tangerine tango, crushed curry, and papers from the Sweater Weather Designer series paper pack, and also paper from the Thankful tablescape place settings kit.
Don't forget to stop by tomorrow to see more of the contents of the card holder!

Happy Day card

Hello!  Today's post is a card featuring one of the stamp sets that is 25% off until the 28th of October, the "Happy Day" stamp set.  I love this card.  It's been sitting on my desk on top of a stack of cards for the last week or two, and every time I see it, it makes me happy!  I love the colors and the simplicity of the design, and I love that perfect bow!!!  This card was made by Felice Gladue, and was one I received as a swap from convention.  This is an almost exact case from a card in Stampin' Up!'s annual catalog, but the layout is flipped to be a landscape rather than portrait layout.  The colors used are crushed curry, smoky slate, midnight muse, very vanilla and raspberry ripple.  The card base has the "doily" design stamped lightly in crushed curry, for a tone on tone technique, making it ever so subtle.   That same technique is used again on the raspberry ripple 'tag', to kind of tie the whole card together.

I hope you liked today's card. I've seen it about a million times and still love it!  Thanks Felice for the beautiful card!  Stop by tomorrow for a halloween gift I made for some friends tomorrow!  It shows off ways to reuse old jars lying around your house, halloween washi tape and I figured out another use for my Stampin' Chalk Marker from Stampin' Up!  I'm SOOOO excited to show you!  See you tomorrow!
